i like strava as you can access the site via ie aswell, and see your routes/logs from your runs saved from your mobile. its better than other apps for sure. i generally use strava for my biking but i know others that use this for running. Unsure about the accuracy tho, as it will use the gps from your mobile, which runkeeper etc would use aswell. Alot of time and effort has gone into strava so maybe it has been written better than other apps.

I've used strava runkeeper and endomondo apps (alongside a RCX5 so I can compare the GPS output). strava and endomondo generally fairly close and reliable. Runkeeper I had loads of problems with it crashing.

I seem to get different km splits uploading the same run to strava and Fetch. Has anyone noticed this and more importantly has any insight into why and which might be more accurate?

I've given up on runkeeper- crashing all the time and moved to strava as it maps my route (via GPS) on my phone then synces to strava.com then from my PC I can export GPX to fetch.

Question for wise techies: Is there a way I can export GPX file on my phone from strava app straight to Fech app?

thanks in advance

I would like to know that too. Can we get Fetch to be synced with somewhere, rather than do an upload?

Due to 1) a wish to get untethered from a stationary PC and 2) various problems recently with Garmin Connect I have begun to use a Wahoo dongle and iphone to get runs off a Garmin 310XT. Then I use the export app to send to sites of choice: currently I send to Strava. But it would be the same if I just logged runs with a strava app directly.

Tapiriik is a web service that then copies the training session for me to a variety of places. Currently I have chosen to send to Garmin Connect, Runkeeper and Dropbox (I could also add Training Peaks, Sporttracks, Ride with GPS and endomondo). This sync happens every few minutes, 24/7/365, without my intervention. I love it!

Is there any way Fetch could me made to log the training session without me having to do a separate manual upload? Since I have data on Fetch going back to 2004 I don't really want to abandon it, but Fetch means I still have to use a computer somewhere and I want to get away from that.

I've stopped using strava after I bombed up a hill segment in a PB and my boss, languishing way behind me, appeared higher up the strava leaderboard with a faster time!!

(To be fair to strava I think it was our different Garmin watches that was the problem)

Just last week Garmin Connect and strava announced that there was an option to connect / sync automatically and DC Rainmaker explained how to enable that function here in his blog dcrainmaker.com

As a result when I get back in from my run I use Bluetooth on my 620 to connect and sync to the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone and very shortly afterwards the run is also appearing on Strava.

Again based on comments made by Ray in his blog it would appear that Garmin is offering this connection (API?) but at a steep price so it may be that Fetch won't have this whereas others are prepared to pay what Garmin are asking.
