That's a shame. It usually took me another week to clean up all the mess, I found. Properly grim.

The worst bit was actually my son (5) noticing and asking questions. My DH said it was like living in a 'slaughter house' (he has such a way with words)

I found badgering the GP repeatedly eventually worked for me. When I fixed mine with a steely glare and declared 'I've had enough of this now' something was done.

Hope you feel better soon.

I've been on the Microgynon pill forabout 2yrs to have structure to period dates. However I have gone without having any periods a few times and have now not taken my 1st pill of my next pack. I'm a bit concerned about reasons why my periods seem to have stopped although I def know I'm NOT preggers as hubby has had the snip for 7 yrs! I'm gonna go this month and allow nature to take its course without pill and then suppose I will have to go to Docs to investigate why no periods. Anyone have any advice?

TinyTia, I had a similar thing a few years ago (I'm on Yasmin) where periods seemed to just stop for no apparent reason after previously always starting on the same day of a pill free week. I still kept taking them as usual but went to the doctors as I wasn't worried about being pregnant but more WHY things had changed. It went back to normal after a while.

I told the (male) doc the problem and was basically told it was just one of those things from being on the pill, and the fact I was having no period showed it was working really well. Worth going just to put mind at rest though. (I felt a bit silly but that was down to my doctors people skills) he didn't answer my real Q as to WHY it had changed all of a sudden but I was assured I was ok.

My guess is that one of the things the pill does is makes the womb lining thinner so an egg would not be able to implant and in some cases it might thin it so much that little or no visible period occurs. Don't know if this could be affected with weight loss, stress, travel all of which looking back I had experienced at the time. Go and get checked though.
