Hourglass
For balance, as well as personal experience, I've had friends who've never had any problems - it's a case of 'one-size does not fit all' (not the coil, I think they're pretty standard ;-))

I agree Hourglass. The success is really high, but it's not until it goes wrong for you that you hear about all the bad stories.
The doc at the family planning clinic admitted to me that they're not well documented and probably ought to be, as they happen OFTEN enough!

I'm also on Cerazette, which I've probably been on for a year and a half now. I did have the odd random light bleed when I first started taking it - sometimes several times a month, but haven't had anything for ages now. Last slight bit was Feb I think (just as I was packing to fly to NZ, conveniently). TBH, it's been mostly fine... has killed the libido a bit, which is frustrating when I am not single, but useful when I am ;)

I'd much prefer to be on a combined pill, but have been told by the doc that I am not allowed to take these because I get migraines :(

that's an interesting point WL about the migraines. i've been taking the COC ( :-O ) for years now but have found that on the days when I don't take the pill I get awful headaches that can really floor me if I don't take headache tablets quickly enough. i'm due for a 6monthly check up soon so I think I'll have a chat with the doc about POP as an alternative

Calling lovely Fetchie medical folk - would very much appreciate any advice. And ladies who are on / been on the Pill (Cilest.)

Been on Cilest for about 7 weeks now, and while it's been quite handy for my bid to gain weight, I am erm gaining a LOT, and I am sure it is the Pill... I am also still getting nausea, especially about an hour or two after taking it in the morning (puked into bushes on way up the hill into work, sorry if TMI). Been reading up on tinternet about weight gain as a side effect and it seems to be regarded as dubious at best. My boobs have also gone up 2 cup sizes and feel like they are still growing, which OH loves, and I don't mind, but they're also pretty painful. How long should I give Cilest before calling it a day with the side effects? Because they don't seem to be easing and it's starting to get me down a bit.

TIA, Rhubarby x

I won't normally change a pill prescription before 3 months as it can take that long to settle

highly unlikely to be pregnant, but worth peeing on astick for reassurance

don't forget that you've had a lot of other stuff going on as well which may be influencing how you feel

also oestrogen is dissolved in fatty tissue, and if you're very lean you may be more sensitive to it's effects
