Just watched on catch up. Barney has not improved, disappointed they've not seen fit to get a proper presenter in.

Other than that, very enjoyable. Was nice to see the genuine enjoyment the gladiators had with the games with a little pressure off. Looking forward to some of the new games in the new series - Atlaspheres was one of my very favourite games growing up, so definitely can't wait for that :)

<q uid="33596">Sadly they've not ditched Bradley and Pointless Walsh.

Have to agree, despite Bradley being a great entertainer on the Chase, I feel he’s a bit flogged to death, it’s when you see him on more and more telly he becomes a bit annoying, Bradley doesn’t bring anything to the table and is just there…

I'm no fan of Bradley (I find his laughing fits on The Chase hugely over-acted), but I think if he was paired with a competent co-presenter it might work - but it needs someone who can present, interview, and be generally funny to avoid them needing to be the "straight guy" to Bradley's antics.

Was chatting to housemate who watched it from his hospital bed, he agreed with me that the banter between celebs and Gladiators was far better than the often unfunny and mean-spiritedness that the amateur contenders come out with (in particular the interplay of Rob Beckett and Legend, a good double act :) )

Completely forgot about the celebrity special. I'm not looking at the previous comments just yet and will get it on iPlayer later.

Just watched the celebrity one - enjoyable. It looks like they have made gauntlet harder...

Yes, less time, an extra gladiator, and a new "weapon" first them to use.

Remains to be seen whether the real contenders are slowed by it.

Just got around to watching the celebrity special.

Great banter between Rob and Legend. The female gladiators seemed a bit gentle with their celebrity opponents, especially Louise. I like the new helmet cam which is a great addition.

Good to see the extra gladiator and reduced time in gauntlet. At least that will reward the better contenders. I did think that crawling on the bridge in collision might be frowned upon!

Might get around to watching last week's first episode later although I am going out this evening and will miss the second show.

Ignore me! I'm a week ahead of myself. Series 2 begins tonight at 5.50 pm. Still have to watch it on catch-up though.
