I fear I'm just going to have to get a new one :/ I'll wait till I'm back in mainland Europe though where things are a tiny bit more affordably priced. Expect dozens of new zones when I get back mid-October!

I'm not even back in Italy for nearly a month so I'll see how I get on until then. I might just order one from amazon to arrive here (as the other 3 countries I am going to meanwhile are all outside the sodding EU so I get hit with stupid customs charges.) I'll PM you if I need more help. Thanks!
