50 metres today which for 2 miles not bad This thread could be encouraging to tackle more hills Rather than to avoid them

Lovely pics!
Hastings is so hilly and I do a lot of hill work so perhaps I will give it a whirl too. Remind me - is it just the 'ascent' number on a training report? So ascent 122 would mean just 122 metres towards that 52 mile target? doesn't seem much for a very hard hill session!

Changed my mind - it 's too hard unless your a fell runner, or biker, or something!

I believe customised individual targets are encouraged, Sharkie

Elevation gain 0 ft after my run today. It is *very* flat where I live.

I seem to be semi consciously looking for stuff to join in with. Most threads are wrong for me for one reason or another - I am an odd shaped Fetchie.
Have found one though (and it's just for January to kick off with)

Nothing wrong with being an odd shaped Fetchie Definitely what V'rap said though, customised targets is the way to go: 52 miles is my target but it's a massive amount if you're not in the mountains. GM could seemingly run forever and not get that far.
This is just a thread for people who like going up and down hills, I guess.

But you have to have a target, zp!
I looked at December and wrote this in my blog 'December where I logged a lot of the walks as well as runs only gave me 2865 metres which makes 1.8 miles. 1.8 a MONTH isn't good enough - I need a mile a week to compete!'

I'd like to join in with this since personalised targets are allowed! The only thing is, according to strava so far in 2017 I've 'ascended' only 97m over 2 runs, whereas Fetch (and thus Garmin) say run 1 was 56m and run 2, 122m. How is that so different and which do I believe? (Fetch/Garmin, obvs ;-))
strava says I climbed 7078m last year - not even 5 miles, let alone 52!
