How was week 2?
I had a baaaad day Tuesday and just felt like everything was on top of me.
Much as I'm really grateful for beavers and cubs keeping in touch I'm finding it hard to do the activities they're asking (tonight is virtual sleepover, which involves making a den, letting them sleep in the living room, toast marshmallows and make a meal) and expecting evidence of badge work by a certain date. It's lovely that they're doing stuff for them, but it's too much for me at the moment. We are not virtual sleepovering.

That does sound a bit much. Our scout group on the other hand are doing nothing!!!
As the poem says - do what keeps you sane xxx

We're not Cub/Beavering. They should be telling you that the stuff is available *if you want it* - some parents want as many activities as possible, some us are grateful for a break! School are setting work every school day and have sent out a list of optional Easter hol activities - I'm looking forward to doing some stuff we don't have time for in term time, planting seeds etc

I want a break. I've muted the WhatsApp chat at the moment.

I suppose a couple of ours might find it a bit harder to earn their bronze/silver, but we can usually "creatively sort out" any issues later!

Looking forward to a couple of weeks without daily emails of work for mini VJs (Year 6, 8, 10). Have found quite different approaches to expectations between different teachers and departments but to be fair they’ve listened to constructive and polite feedback (with head of year, head of department and head of school copied in). The teachers are working this out too.

Ds2’s school sent a nice email saying ‘this isn’t schooling as normal, can parents please stop complaining not enough work is being set’ which seemed pretty sensible to me. The head is mum of a teen and has gone up in my estimation. Most schools do bugger all work the last week of term anyway.
We don’t get emails about schoolwork, Ds2’s work is all on the homework app and I expect him to just get on with it unless he wants help. School also said they expect year 10s to be fairly independent.
