Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I had intended to follow the RW ultimate marathon sub4.30 plan for this, maybe shortening the longest runs (as I'm not actually running the full marathon) or at least reducing the number that are over 16 miles. I picked it because it's based on 4 sessions a week plus parkrun which I thought I could work with. A club mate last night really recommended a Hanson plan, I have had a look and it's appealing because the longest runs are 16 miles, but it's only one day off a week - which I have never attempted. Does anyone have any experience of Hanson plans? I'm looking at the beginner one.

I'm in but may well end up a training run depending on how well my legs recover well from a 24hr relay race in the runup ..

No experience Al but can easily replace a recovery day with cross training or rest?

Supposed to be my first day training but a torn glute has derailed my plans, how long for will be clearer after physio tomorrow...

Sorry AL, never even heard of the Hanson plans, so can't help. I have one day off a week, but even on that day I cycle and cross train, but aiming for 7 running sessions a week, doubling up on a Sat.

Officially signed up now as my training has been going well. 123 days to go.

Adding this to my watch list, although I haven't definitely decided to enter yet.

We've entered the Metric :) I've stuck with the first plan I found. The fact that no one on Fetch seemed to have used Hanson rather put me off (along with the 6 days a week aspect!).

Definitely seen discussions about Hanson on here and elsewhere in the past - it's kind of the opposite of Furman (where you do 3 or 4 insanely hard runs per week).

I'm already out. Back running tomorrow after 3 weeks out but needs to be gradual so no chance of getting what I wanted out of it. Next year...
