They appear to have forgiven us, seem happy enough now back home.

Lasya is so easy, I pick her up under one arm, taker her out, lock the door, walk to the shed, grab her wicker basket, top loading, no windows, so considered safe! And flop her in. Close the lid with the 2 leather straps and off she goes. I think I could just take her under my arm, but the vet stipulates carriers and she fears dogs...

I stay about 100m from a vet and itโs not unusual for cats to escape during the handover process.

Lasya is petrified of dogs, having been attacked twice by jack russels, once she barely scraped through! So I take her in her safe basket, bless her. Once in the consulting room, she hugs the vet! She trusts me explicitly and therefore knows I would not let her come to any harm. I can happily remove ticks, administer eye drops, cut her nails... This does surprise the vet too by the way... She also homed into the dental cat food, last time we were there, which was exactly what she needed!!!

2 cats and a dog that all go into transport boxes without thinking. We moved them all more than once when young. I think that helped.

I think it helps if they don't associate the carriers with the vet! I brought Lasya home in her wicker basket, with lovely fluffy towels that smelt of me inside. She thinks the basket is a good thing.
