Yes we have top loading car carriers and I was thinking towel wraps. Mabel can be a bit feisty (eg if Trudy gets too close when she’s eating or startles her when asleep) I don’t fancy those claws and teeth aimed at me…

Lasya is quote easy, so no idea... Other than indeed wrapping them in a towel. At the vets I did work experience at, they used welders gloves. Log burner gloves will do the job...

Block all exits and top loading for me too. You get one chance with prim or she’ll panic and scratch while twisting round. Lucky looks very delicately poised

Recommend having a blind cat. Pretty easy to get Moon into a carrier. 😆
Moon is quite a vocal cat, he meows when he wants something or is annoyed with something. This includes:
"Bloody hell, those stairs are still there, haven't you got rid of them yet, they are *so* inconvenient?"
"The fire is not on in the lounge. Did you HEAR me? It is COLD!" (He does have a point with the last one; the central heating is a bit borked at the moment.)

Getting lennox in to a carrier is pure hell. She becomes a liquid clawed octopus. I set her box up in the living room the night before on its end (we have to have 1st appt of the day as she vomits so gets no breakfast). We get up, she goes out. I sit on the stairs. She realises something is up and tries to get upstairs. I grab her as she tries to get past. I then shove her in anyway up and close the door trying to avoid shutting any part of her in it. I tried dreamies, I tried cheese. In the end I needed a hockey stick. This is now the only way. Once in she howls. Then vomits. Then howls some more and arrives at the vet in a right pickle.

I'm not sure physics has caught up with the many states of cats. Up, down, strange, charm, top, bottom, liquid clawed octopus.
