Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The chip tech that they employed is well known for being dodgy if there is any interfearance (UHF I believe instead of the normal HF used in IPCO chips). Hence the race instructions not to put pins on the bottom of the number - near the chip, and those of you who cross the line with your garmin by your number as you press stop/lap at the finish - that's enough to kill the chip send/recieve signal too. nice.

It is a very weird to have the results sorted by gun time but the places listed as chip time. Gun time is the IAAF Standard method. Never ever seen that before in looking at over 500 sets of results in the past few years. My guess is they have had a major cock up somewhere and had to fix it because the time on the pdf doesn't match the one they SMS sent to me afterwards.

I've just exported the PDF into excel and added chip and gun time position columns and uploaded it to google sheets here - open access.

My husband and I started together. My chip time and gun time are as different as I calculated on my watch, but his are listed as the same. He did have pins at the bottom of the number, but not so close to it that I would have thought they'd interfere. I didn't wear them for that worry, but was worried the number was going to fly all over the place. I'm sure it would have had it been windier.

Annoying for him, but at least he was well enough under the time barrier he was aiming for that the difference didn't span it.

Gun time is useless in mass races. VLM doesn't even provide gun time.

must be keeping their heads down after the timing kerfuffle then. silly billies. They need to grow a pair and step up and explain. Then we can understand, sympathise and consider their other events.
