Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

George Smiley, I think that was me who said hello to you on the cliffs yesterday. Good to run Brighton again, especially after the uncertainty when grounded events went bust. Interesting changes to the route, but I was surprised at the amount of the basin road we ran. Tried to beat 5 hours, but finished in 5:04 and felt satisfied with my result. Talking about the winner this year, I did a training camp in Portugal 2 weeks ago, and Marshall Smith was there. Had a few good chats with him. Someone mentioned he was one of the favourites to win. I'm thinking he could be a great GB prospect?

Quite a few results queries across all three events, so overall, gender and category positions won't be official for a few days yet - if it means anything to you of course.

My 5k time didn't register and I was only two seconds slower than my Garmin. Overall distance covered was 26.43 miles. A bit surprising as I didn't think I weaved around all that much.

I walked 1.5 miles back from the finish to house and that helped me out a treat. Plus Hove Lawns to Hove Station is a mile tops and less of an uphill climb than Madeira Drive to Brighton Station; so from that point of view not that challenging

Ah thanks, I didn’t know there was a Hove Station. I was pondering what the travel options were if I were theoretically to enter in future.

Surrey Phil I clocked in at 26.39 miles. I was about 0.1 mile ahead of the mile markers by mile 3 and baffled as that was a clear enough up & back!

Minimal weaving from me as well.

From then I just seemed quite steady on the distance gain. Happy enough to not have bloody 27 miles creep up on me!

I made 26.41 I think fairly straight line, but I wouldn't swear to it for last few miles!

I didn’t know there was a Hove Station.

Hove trains go west to Worthing and beyond or London. For Eastwards you change at Brighton.

I wore my grey Fetch tee so got plenty of Fetchie shout outs which was appreciated especially as I was finding hard going from 16 miles onwards.

One guy shouted out Fetch and then the guy he was with said "Fetch, I don't think that's a name" 🤣🤣
