Hi st bernard,

Generally I quite like hilly races, but since this would be only my second ever Half, just how deadly is the killer hill?

I think Four Villages entries usually out November-ish-full-by-Xmas. Just need to look at the site now and again.

There's always Macc Half - Sunday 1st October - enter on the day - no painful cold weather training required ;-).

I'm gonna look at the Four Villages too. It's the place to be.

Brass Monkey HM is soooooooooo last year.

(No bitterness for being too late there then)

I'm in!
This is a great race! Flat and friendly even for the slow plodders like me! I wrote my car off on the way home last year but that's not stopping me doing this year!
Really looking forward to the winter training (cold wet and damp followed by hot shower! Heaven!) in fact I had better actually do some training now!!
Cya all there!

This is the Four Villages link

helsbyrun.freeuk.com

First half is pancake flat. Then there's a steady hill 9-10. 10-11 miles it all gets a bit too undulating for comfort. But long 1.5 mile lash down to the finish (generously this is where they take the photos ;-).

And guess what? You get to visit 4 Cheshire villages on your way round.

My cheque's been cashed to :)

Four Villages is also a great race, shame they are on the same day. Despite the hill in the 2nd half it is a really fast course, I still dont know how i ran the time I did there this year.
