Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Good decision Bunny. Be good to have a few others to chat about the race to.
Now we need to plan accommodation, I hear most reasonable priced places fill up this week as soon confirmations start being sent. Let me know if you spot any good deals.

Put in an entry yesterday but my qualifiying time is only 21 seconds inside the 59 seconds grace (ie 3.45.38 for 3.45 qualifying time) so would not be surprised to miss out when the entries close at the end of the week. Next year the BQ time is 3.40 so will be even harder. This may be my last chance!

Sprinter, you maybe in with a chance the Facebook update today (Thursday) was encouraging everyone to enter who was in the qualifying time if you wanted to run. It read like there maybe hasn't been as many people apply as last year. If they already had enough entrants for places I wouldn't thought they would have been encouraging people who weren't desperate to enter to do so, that would be kind of unfair on the ones who trained hard to scrape the qualifying time then miss the cut off because faster runners were encouraged to apply at the last minute.

the entry process is a farce - whilst as stated above it doesnt look likely - you could work all year to scrape the qialifying time only to find it still isnt good enough. I nearly killed myself to qualify in 2009 - I ran 3200 miles but got my reward - would then have been gutted to qualify but be a fast qualifier - the simple answer is tighten qualification ? I would then struggle to get in but at least know what I had to run !

Looking forward to Great Langdale marathon tomorrow before heading of to Chicago for my 4th of the 5 majors.

Comments on Facebook suggest that my BQ may not be fast enough to get a place. Have a few days wait to find out
