Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

I only ever met one Norwegian. He was very glum most of the time, apart from when he had too much to drink.
He was also extraordinarily rude as he invited me over to Norway without my then husband 😱😱😱 assuming that the offering of an architect designed house and a private Island would convince me to jp ship 😱😱😱

I Coach a Norweigian. He is nothing like that, quite the opposite. He does like a beer.

As beer costs about a million quid a pint in Norway he's probably grabbing his chances while he can

I used to live in Norway - Oslo in fact.

Before that I lived in Sweden (Linköping). We had a local (ish) source of cheap beer. It was called Denmark. Surprisingly easy to get too for a weekend on the bladder even back then before the bridge.

Finished The Girl in the Mirror so will do a review shortly.

Now I need to read a Jeeves and Wooster book for my *other* book club. It was supposed to be discussed today but they extended it by 2 weeks because no one else had read it yet :-o

I like his descriptions of his home town. Skiing, Norwich skiing, snowshoeing in winter, Track and cross country running in summer. Their cross country is a bit more like fell running. He is finishing his PhD now, part funded by oil revenues from home.
