McG, I remember the Librerrie... alas, I live so far removed from any form of civilisation that the cheapest way of getting a book, even though it will get passed on once read, is to order it from Amazon and have postie deliver it!

my paperback book has a very long battery life, in fact I have paperbacks and even hard covered book that I can read 10 years after buying them. I can read at night too, I put the lights on, and books are good outside int he daylight.
Anyhow, 1984, first chapter, wo Minute Hate, it's excellent, I'm not sure Orwell meant it, but it is eaxactly how I fell during departmental meetings..........Perhaps 1984 needs a re-write, updated to todays shambolic political world and corporate brain-washing, hmmmm Black Friday......

I haven't been to a librerrie in years, mainly because my local ones never seem to be open when I can get to them.
