Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

C9 and mrS loved the programme on the giant sewer. So far my big bridge book is mostly about the size of the whiskers of the consultants and full of seventies supposition “he was a man everybody admired” etc. May be a long haul

Re viv albertine. It was relentless first person, and there were things that I thought I probably didn't need to know. But I did get that punk wasn't all just narcissist anti-intellectualism, even if the only punk I knew was. She came across as someone trying to say somethings about her life through music. And interesting. I ought to have got to know more punks.

We have all the Ronson books around the house...never got around to them. The first part was great...brainwashing in action..plus hope over logic...I suppose someone who could do the arithmetic would get filtered out in selection.

Re Viv Albertine. I didn’t think about the writing as such. Was too busy going, ‘Oh fuck yes,’ and wincing. Bit painful in a way. But then I'm an ex art school working class girl who liked music, clothes and boys and played electric guitar.
