Sheldrake effect, sort of, in action to some extent then!
I'd be ecstatic with Beth's time for legs 1 and 2 together, but I can see how Jasmine's time made something even quicker being believed to be doable - if you are generally superhuman

(We tried to work the order out just using our brains and not the interweb. We are not as clever as the interweb at remembering things 🤣🤣🤣 hence we were wrong 🤪 thank you for correct listing of time orders!)

Beth lives local to me and occasionally trains with the club, she had taken a sabbatical from work obviously wanting to focus on the record but then COVID hit and she went back to work , got quietly married last week and now this achievement ... quite a few weeks she’s had !

Yes I definitely think something of that nature is at play. It's interesting how knowledge of what is possible and what you 'need' to do tend to define boundaries. Jasmin set out with 17.06 in mind to break an 18.06 record. On the day she found she could 'comfortably' move quicker than her schedule and broke the record by nearly 3 hours. Though I'm sure she felt she was giving everything late on, she wasn't 'running scared', the record was always in the bag. Beth had a much higher bar to aim at and it would seem her target pace at least initially was Jasmin's record pace. On the day she got inside it early on and kept pushing because she knew not to risked losing time and potentially the record.

Phal, forgetting Rob Jebb is very forgiveable. It was never a record and as a result never got a lot of publicity. Mark's and Stuart's are very much the same. And writing this I've realised I have omitted another sub-15 from my original list. Mark Palmer did 14.59 IIRC so Jasmin is 8th I think. Butit's possible there have been other sub 15.24s that I can't recall.

Gromit given Beth spent most of the winter months running up and down the same hills as myself I'm hoping that is the secret ingredient whilst trying to ignore that she ran up them consistently quicker than I could!

I’ve tried running up some of the same hills too 🤔 not sure it will work for me as I’m a day or two slower 😂😂😂

I think there is a case of someone who waited too long before going for it. I needed to have a go in his prime.
