It now looks like a pretty straight race to Patterdale in 19-20 hours time where Paul had something like a 4.5 hours stop. Sabrina takes her next major stop (and last significant one) at Glenridding about 5 hours later. Paul had a bit more rest on the way to Patterdale than Sabrina has scheduled in that time but not a huge amount.

It's becoming interesting to compare the relative progression of Paul and Sabrina. Sabrina is holding onto Paul (and her schedule) by cutting her stops to a bare minimum and hammering the downhills but is losing large amounts of time (upto 50%) on the climbs. Sallows to Shipman Knotts through Kentmere is a great example. Sabrina descended to Kentmere in 24 mins against a schedule of 44 (which does seem generous tbh), didn't take her scheduled 10 min stop and then took 64 mins to climb Shipmans Knotts giving her peak to peak split of 1.28. Paul took closer to 30 mins to do the descent, stopped for around 20 mins but then did the climb in a little over 40 for a peak to peak split of 1.32. Can she sustain that strategy for close on another 3 days?

I think FF, and this is what we are blind to, is what the purpose of the stops is. If she's cutting rest which will be on the limit anyway then that's tough. If she thinks I'll keep moving - eat up hill and just change socks then that may be more sustainable.

True but for me the interesting bit is both Steve and Paul made quite a lot of use of medical support (e.g. foot care and massage) Sabrina isn't stopping long enough to do any of that stuff. So is her body that more resilient or is she just storing up trouble?

Maybe giving medical treatment to non-compliant animals means she can sort her own feet out while she is moving ;)

If so she could make a fortune running training courses on that for the rest of us :)

Sabrina seems to have been haemorrhaging time at quite a rate since Kentmere. Paul took 1.55 to get to Gray Crag, Sabrina has taken 2.50. She really seems to be labouring on the climbs. With the next road crossing at least 7 hours away she is going to need to turn that round on the move or the damage is going to be significant by Martindale.

Thanks for the link. I forsee a lot of tracker watching in the next few weeks! I've got at least six significant ones on my radar for the next 6-7 weeks (not counting the current one).
