I think about the Frog Graham regularly. The fact I hate getting wet and swim like a 14 year labrador retriever is neither here or there

I think about the Frog Graham a lot. Next year I’ll be fit enough to do the hills as well as the wet bits!

I can safely say that the FGR never enters into my thoughts. I can get plenty wet enough on the fells where it's a bit harder to drown.

I need to be (a) fitter and (b) a better swimmer to do the FGR.
That said, it was on the vague plan for this September until everything went a bit wrong.

No Rosehip if you're staying next to the Crown it sounds like a sensible thing to think about. Even if you decide you don't have the time to do it all this time you could base shorter runs on it and use this trip to recce parts of it for the future. Will add some purpose and motivation to outings this time. Go and play and see what you can get out of it.

Absolutely spot on ff
We often run or walk short sections of the Pennine Way and I have zero intention of either doing the whole thing or taking part in any of the Spine series of events

Thanks, FF - If it's the right combination of family, I will definitely be able to get out for long half-days at least -just hoping we're allowed to go!

Bobs and I had intended to do an extended version of the OCR the weekend we went into lockdown, so never got to it. The "extended" bit is where I want to pick up some stray Birketts enroute - I've never done The Tongue for instance, also I want to be absolutely sure I had the right summit for Little Lingy Hill.
If you like it thereabouts then take a look at the LDWA Back O' Skidda route. Slightly longer than the OCR but with scope to take in more summits, a heck of a day out.
