I had a nice day, achieved my best time so far in my short running experience and I love the medal. Lovely big silver thing.

Blind Dave (think there is only one!) is pretty nippy, 1:3x pace for a half I think. There was another blind pairing right at the back who were walking, saw them as I was about to turn to go up to the park, on the other side of the road? They were well behind a lady from our club I saw on the opposite side who did 3 h

My first 1/2 was 2:57, running all the way, even though that is slower than some walkers. It is up to the organizers to make sure people are in the right place (even if they intend to take 3h+) so everyone has the best possible experience.

The other blind pair were wanting to do 2:45!

There were actually 3 blind pairs. There were 2 utterly lovely guys running for 'look' something (can't remember the full name, but remember look on the their t-shirts) who I believe were asked to start before the main race so crossed the line and then stepped to the side to let the rest of the race begin before they joined in right at the back.

And Mick - I gave you a 'go Mick' shout yesterday - and you shouted back even though I bet you had no idea who I was!!

I shouted you too Mick as we came alongside at about 6 miles, although don't know if you clocked it was me as I was in my West Brom Harriers club vest rather than the fetch one this time. It always brings a smile to my face just seeing the wave of positivity you generate in the runners around you. Top man.

Blind Dave is indeed a speedy fella, even if his time at Brum this year was a bit slower. He runs for our club and turns out at the road relays as well as being a 3:3x marathon runner and 1:3x half man. It's an impressive sight watching him fly along in step with one of our team as his guide. Ndellar will also tell you tales of them taking part in speedwork sessions at her club.

He and Karl from the club are in training for an upcoming LEJOG run/ tandem cycle adventure.
