Talked to the man in the running shop about this today. A few highlights:
"It's all about the last six miles" "200 steps up the [insert name of dreadful obstacle deliberately blanked from memory]" "...then it's hands and knees stuff" "you should go for a finish rather than a time"
Thought I should share.

I dont think the hands and knees stuff is a wind up from what i have heard. it is truly go for a finish not for a time. my first off road marathon. 13 miles of north downs way yesterday and I could hardly walk today. omg what have i done.

shin...I run in this area often...in fact i ran some of the course on Sunday and have yet to be reduced to hands and knees believe me!
It is a tough course and definately not a PB but it can be enjoyed....promise. The views are amazing.

I live quite near but for some reason have never even walked the seven sisters or BH. Now debating whether or not to go and check it out. Maybe it's better not to know in advance.....
