I played Fall Guys a bit when it first came out on PS+. Very silly, the right mix of fun and frustrating - but I've tried to limit my participation in Games As Service.

Phone gamers: Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent has been released, and it is great. I didn't get to play the original as it never came to PlayStation, but I'm really enjoying the pixel-art style, and what looks to be quite a deep tactical battle system. Doesn't seem to be ruined by MTX either - they're there but not front and centre. |

I don't get much time to play, but a 1 hour wait for a ferry, then a 2.5 hour journey allowed me to play some of my platformer that I'd only just started. It's so cute! orithegame.com And I don't think I was looking properly before, because it's got weapons that you can collect, extra powers, keys you have to get for doors, boss baddies at end of sections (which I think I've got on easy mode) etc. Music and ambience are great, graphics amazing and quirky story and dialog are fun, imho. It feel perfectly balanced as a Rogue-like, the voice acting helps the relatively thin story along nicely... It's my regular go-to game when I've a couple of hours spare to take a run through Tartarus and Asphodel. And I'm a little bit in love with Megaera. Bought it, no regrets. Would love for them to make some DLC or a sequel. Minor spoiler, but |

Currently playing: Octopath - Challengers of the Continent (mobile) Knack - free on PlayStation Extra Stray - just need to clean up a couple of trophies before that one can be packed away for good. I'm actually very disappointed by Stray. I had high hopes, but despite being beautifully designed, animated, and realised, the story is too slight, the game too short, and the end truly is anticlimactic. Very little replay value too, which is sad. It either needed to have more difficulty, or to have something to go back to - I'll probably have forgotten about its existence in a year. Rated it as 8/10 on release, but revised down to 6/10. |

Oooh. Talk to me about Octopath. Does that sound like my kind of thing? It seems like it might.
