lots of 'you need to join fetch, check it out' posts being shared on various FB running groups. So maybe I will have encouraged one or two to come along, including a group of trail runners from Oz (who I had hoped to run with while we were on holiday failed due to c-19) one had said they would love to split out trail running!!

+1 from me too. Nice idea. Also added a comment about linking to club based threads on the forum.

If you go to the main mileage leagues you can filter that by clubs already.

Sigh
Thanks folks. From my time on St**va, the clubs section was popular but actually pretty insubstantial. The only thing I could recall that it had that's not here is a mileage league by club, to see who's done the most per week/month (and why does that matter, we're all training for different things surely?)

Anyone can add a race on Fetch - virtual or otherwise - which you couldn't do on there; and if all club members add it to their race portfolio then the results are already shown on the club page ranked by fastest: see 'recent race results' here on top left

fetcheveryone.com/clubs-view.php?id=1751

I don't think it would take much tweaking to make the Fetch club pages as comprehensive as the orange ones.

It would also be good to add the option of cycling/swimming/triathlon/walking/orienteering clubs.

Of course, the hard bit is the ubiquity of stroova. Because almost everyone I knew and anyone who became known to me, tended to be on it, I could have a pretty high chance of seeing them. Also, real names (mostly!) much better for stalking.

But it's better here - way more exclusive! :-) G

The real names thing is odd though. I've got non-fetchie friends who know me as Nellers now because they either see Fetchies call be that on Str**a/Facebook or I was introduced to them by a Fetchie.

Nellers is easier for me, so I don't get you mixed up on FB with another friend who has your name :-)

Yeah, but if I want to look up new colleague, who bikes a bit, who has just said to me "ooh, I see you run a bit" having looked me up on stroova, by my real name, we can't do that in here.

Anyone here use LinkedIn (for work, not for running!)? All I use it for is "XX McYY, wonder where he / she worked and if I know anyone they know?" So stroova is a bit like that for me. A universal lookup. That's about it though.
