So I have an account on the orange site, not used other than it automatically updates my run/other activities. I have it because our running club has a group thing on there (that I've never quite understand) and its useful if my garmin has lost charge, although not needed it for that for a long time.

Can definitely see the lockdown in effect on the orange site. Lots of little bits disappearing.

I get that it's a business and they have to make money. The frustration, I think, is that instead of creating features that would tempt someone to upgrade to a paid layer of subscription, which is how it used to be, they're taking away things that were standard and reducing the incentive to use the site at all.
When I started paying for Premium/Summit there were turbotrainer sessions available from CTS and Sufferfest as well as the additional analytics. It felt worth the investment. The only reason I'm still using it now is because it links to a few third party apps which makes it easier to track other stuff (HRV/Training load etc) without too much manual fiddling, and the payment is so small that I've not bothered to cancel.
It's not that expensive really (a couple of coffees each month?) but if you're paying that to get what has been free for years then it leaves a bitter taste. Paying it for some extras feels very different, but the extras have to tempt a lot more people in to make it a viable business.

I've used the free samples of the orange site and off, but didn't feel that any of the add-ons were worth paying for. I kept the free account because it linked into the TrainAsOne system - but they can pull in direct from Garmin now and I get the workouts to my watch via a Garmin add-on thingy so strava is redundant for me now.

I'm on it just for stalking other people (not everyone in the world is on Fetch, surprisingly), and mostly because our club actually post runs on it, has a club, leaderboard etc. I wouldn't pay for it.
Welcome to any refugees from Stroova. G

Sigh
@HG, I've raised Feature request # 688: "Clubs: Generally improve and enhance the clubs section so that it's a good second home for club members. (E.g: show SBs not just PBs, show totals for weekly mileage, as a league, and expand so it's for other clubs not just running. Just examples.)"
- let's give Stravanians one less reason to stay over there!

See, ex-Stravanians, in Fetchland we just suggest stuff, vote for it, and if he's not drinking tea or walking the dog, The Fetchinator builds it for us. G
