Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Hi Groundhog, yes it is, very pale. It just says 'bottled by Morrison & Mackay' and their website doesn't say anything more. A Google search comes up with 'A single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on Islay'.

That milestone deserves a glass of something to celebrate, Nick.

I've just embarked on a bottle of Glenlivet Founder's Reserve. I don't think I've tried it before.

NC, some detective work is called for. I suggest you get a sample of every Islay single malt out there to compare with the mysterious Strand.

A friend is one of the distillers at Mortlach, I keep meaning to pick up another bottle of theirs, the new 16 yo is supposed to be very nice.

I met a friend of a friend last night who lives across the road from the Penderyn distillery and sometimes gives tours there. Handy that he doesn't have to drive to work.
