Sure it will pick up pace as soon as Tyrion meets Khaleesi and the dragons. Can see that side of the story building momentum. Plus the House of Black n white will have a role to play - undoubtedly.

So Brienne and Pod's whole book arc is done as she knows that Sansa and Arya are alive but resistant to her getting involved. What next for them? Am I the only one that expected Pod to be offed by the Vale guards during the escape from the Inn at the Crossroads?

Dany's equal justice isn't going to win her any friends on either side of the Meerenese civil war that seems to be brewing. It could get dicey quickly, and a wild dragon circling the city is hardly going to calm any nerves.

I'm still betting LF and Sansa are heading to Winterfell. The Boltons have it, LF is a sneaky git, and no-one left alive in Winterfell will remember Sansa surely? At least not in Show Westeros. In book Westeros it owuld be a different matter.

I was disappointed that the election of the new Lord Commander was over so quickly. It's a lot more tense and drawn out in the books.

So for an episode that didn't seem to have anything happen we got a resolution to the question of the new Lord Commander, Arya got to Braavos and taken into the HQ of the Faceless Men, the mythical assassins who kill without mercy or leaving any clues, Brienne has her purpose shattered, Dany sparks a civil war and Drogon turns up, we met Doran at last and saw the politics and powerplays that are leading to war, Bronn came back and we got another scene with Tyrion and Varys sparring.

No you're right. Nothing happened.;-)

I think I read somewhere that perhaps Sansa will take on the Lady Stoneheart role, which was perhaps hinted at in the first episode when LF told her to avenge her family.

IF that is the case then maybe she and Brienne will meet again.....

I do worry about the Winterfell story. If Sansa and LF do turn up there, I cant imagine how that will change what, for me, was a really good part of the story development.

Trouble is, Caprica, that the Northern Lords other than Bolton are all either dead or were never introduced. I don't see how they get us interested in the subterfuge in the Bolton army inside Winterfell when we (as unsullied viewers) don't know any of the players.

At least LF and Sansa weing in the mix would give us someone we could shout for/against, someone we've already invested in.

Roose Bolton knows Sansa though, and ordinary people of the North will know her face. I'm not sure how they'll work round that because if Sansa were to go there as herself she's hardly going to hang around drinking ale with the man and the men who murdered what was left of her family.

I'm with you Nellers. The know-nothing's election seemed too easy.

I think the problem with that latest episode wasn't so much that nothing happened as that a lot happened too easily.

Exactly that, LWR. It flew by. I was genuinely surprised when the titles rolled.

But there was no single big thing.

I liked the scene with Sam and Gilly and Shireen in the library. Greyscale plague, anyone?

By having everything drift along as it is by and large sums up book 4 for me. Not a lot really happened until the final quarter of the character threads. I suppose this is being reflected in the early episodes of season five

Another thing with that election: In the books Sam works things to get John in and it's a long-drawn out process over several chapters showing he might not be brave in combat or fit, or physically strong but Sam is an intellect and brave in his own way.

Show Sam does a little speech, slaps Slynt down effectively and that's it. All done. So Sam stays as a clown.
