Havn't read the books but thought the episode was busy albeit a little meh. I like your round up Nellers. You forgot Cersei's council meeting; interesting dynamics there too.

Nellers, re control & wargs etc - sorry wasn't looking at the thread. Err, well yes & no. Some can control lots of things and get control of a passing bird, wolf, man etc. The connection has to be made but does not rely on previous contact - though this has been clearer in the books than the TV. My money would be on the young Stark ending up leading a small band of dragon riders (or the queen learning how to do it).
It ticks lots of plot line boxes, avoids the dead end of the dragons being useless and Bran is the kind of character that is often developed in fantasy novels - much as Arya getting deadly skills is a good plot line.

The fact that Bran's type of character is often developed in fantasy makes me think that GRR will take another course.
By the time the dragons are being ridden Bran will be a tree. You need Valyrian (and therefore Targ in this context) blood to ride dragons. Dany will get it sussed with the help of Tyrion. My bet: Tyrion is her half brother. The mad king bonked Mrs Lannister when he visited and that's the OTHER part of why Tywin hated Tyrion so much.
And of course if R + L really does = J then there's a third head for the dragon that is already at the wall.

The last set of dragon riders was so far back that any of the characters could have Targ ancestry one way or another. A tree riding a dragon does seem unlikely though; I have to admit that.

Wow, the books and the TV series barely resemble each other now. What is going on at Winterfell?

The Law of Conservation of Characters, Postie. Why introduce poor little Jeyne Poole when you can recycle Sansa to serve the same purpose? And we'll feel far more sympathy for her than a character we don't know.
And at the same time I'm also thinking "WT actual Fuck! Where is this leading?"
I loved seeing Cersei thinking she was so clever bringing the High Sparrow into her circle.
I felt cheated that we didn't get "Edd, Fetch me a block". I'd been looking forward to that.:-)

Aren't we missing a rather crucial blue-haired character?

I understand why the show is bringing Sansa to Winterfell instead of Jeyne/"Arya" from a TV series point of view, but I'm also wondering if this is the start of the book spoilers - Ramsay not being actually married to a Stark (or to the younger one) could be hugely important in the future books and Sansa being Alayne in the Vale is a bit boring but at least has bags of potential. Now, if Sansa is married off to Ramsay then a lot of what's going to happen in the next book is likely to show up on the series. I don't think I like that.

I'm dissapointed with the vast simplification of Tyrion's story. They must believe one Targaryon chasing the Iron Throne is enough. Wonder what will happen to Varys now?
