Groundhog Nov 2021 11:57am, 5 Nov 2021 2,798 posts	0 Groundhog Got this delivered today. and also had my first stab at roasting beans. Just a clean dry pan on the job, heating and moving the beans around till they went deep brown. It tasted of coffee which is a good start.

It was never quite as good as the professional roasters. There seems to be a whole subculture of home coffee roasters out there. Using popcorn machines as coffee roasters seems to be a thing in the US, if I remember correctly.
larkim Nov 2021 1:12pm, 5 Nov 2021 15,957 posts	0 larkim I am a staunch defender of Starbucks! It is pretty close to what I want coffee to taste like (for good or ill). Costa is rank watery horribleness though. Would like to try roasting beans, if just for the experimentation, but I'd likely just burn them!
