Anyway, in other news, running at bootcamp this morning took me over my 'b' target for the year - 605 miles (1 more mile than last year). As I wont make my 'a' target of 700 (no I am not going to have a 100 mile month) I'll take that as a win.

Sorry no bin shot - two reasons, 1. I don't take my phone to bootcamp 2. it would have just been of the darkness, as I passed the goal at around 6.10am this morning.

Looking good @Sombrero I can’t manage varifocals. I tried them but they just made me feel seasick and grumpy. Thankfully they were from one of the cheap optician chains and I was able to take them back. I have also given up on expensive glasses as I destroy or lose every pair I have (stupidity rather than intent)

I’ve manage to scratch my new glasses. It won’t polish out so if I can’t get used to it only alternative is new lenses. Gutted as that will cost around £200. 😢

CD you might find there are varifocals to suit you - I always go for the lenses that have the widest 'useful' middle range correction. Inevitably, they are the most expensive :-(

A couple of miles run-walked so now down to 59 miles left to 700. Creeping closer!

@Corrah I'm trying to think of any useful advice about your scratched glasses, but I don't know if anything would help - wouldn't polishing then to take out the scratch end up changing the lens focus a bit? Then taking then to the windscreen guys outside your local Halfords probably isn't helpful either? Sorry. :-(

@Groundhog I took them to the opticians and they tried to sort. I will probably get new lenses but not until next year now.

And Corrah: I once destroyed some expensive varifocals by taking them into a sauna. Stupid, much more so than your effort!
I have both varifocals and multi focal contacts, the latter take a while to get used to but I've never worn contacts before now so your brain has to adapt apparently
