LG, if it's gone, please don't try to run on it for 6 weeks - give it time to heal. x

I'm afraid I'm a DNS for tonight's race. It's very chilly, very windy, I don't feel like it and there's a big water leak uphill from us so apparently we won't have any water til later this evening so no post-race shower. What other excuses can I come up with

You don't need an excuse Daisy Rightly or wrongly I did go for my appointment, wore a mask, kept away from everyone and used hand sanitiser Basically my knee is wear and tear, my kneecap is slightly tilted and a few other bits. I can have n operation but it's not guaranteed to make it better and could make it worse. We are going with strengthening exercises for now, go back in 8 weeks and can have another jab if needed. We did discuss running, and it's pretty much off the cards due to the knee damage - maybe on a treadmill or soft ground but minimal. Her words were I think your running days may be over. She did know what she was talking about as is going through the same thing herself |

Oh that’s not good news but understandable you don’t want to risk further damage by keeping on running. Least you know and hopefully the exercises give you some relief. 😢.

No excuse required @LazyDaisy , your choice, I would probably have made the same decision.

Morning! Sorry to hear that opinion from the doc, Mandy. LG be careful - and patient! PT session this morning. No danger of wimping out from that! |
