Serendippily - can you put Smalley 5 Bells on 2nd July on the sidebar for me? It's my first race in almost a year since my various health issues (see my blogs). I'm not 'racing' but intending on run-walk and finishing strong

Happy birthday, MM. Commiserations, Corrah. Recover quickly. (I was wondering why you hadn't posted any training. Often you post two or three in a day, but today nothing) 2-mile walk, early evening. My, it was warm! |

Evening all, thanks for the birthday wishes. Been a strange old day, but nice enough - perhaps I should do a blog

Back from a run with the Sidmouth club. I wasn't sure about going but am so glad I did. There was a slow three mile group which was perfect and lovely company. One poor lady tripped and fell on the flinty path but luckily she was wearing capris which saved her knees and apart from a grazed hand she was fine. Corrah One of the women in my group was Jo Earlam and we had a lovely long chat about marathon running and the one you did in particular! She said that one of the things that she loved about that women-only marathon was the lack of testosterone on the starting line - everyone was chatting, friendly and relaxed (even though the winner did it in 3:20 which on that course is stupendous). She said one of the farmers whose land you ran on said it was like watching a flock of birds because from where he was watching all he could hear was 'twittering' as all the runners were chatting and laughing as they ran along |

I went to the beach for the first time this year today and even managed to get in the sea for a dip- it was pretty cold still, but lovely once in. Also got out for a run at tea time, fortunately it went a bit cloudy but it was very humid.

Ion, I had contact from my Aussie niece after I got back, she's overstayed her 90 days in Europe so she's being flown to England tomorrow so I'll be getting a house guest for a few days. She's got dual nationality so won't have a problem coming here.

Belated birthday wishes MM & GES Corrah. Long day in the car picking Cheeky up from Uni but it’s lovely to have him home. Even better the dogs had behaved themselves so I didn’t come come to carnage Got out for 8m when we got home so a successful day all round. |
