Having grown up in South Africa I was very used to running in the heat but now I definitely suffer in the heat more than I used to.

I still suffer in the cold though. Anything below 10 and I’m in full winter gear with legging, gloves, hat etc.

Having run VLM in 24° in 2018 I laugh in the face of running in the heat... (not really, but I have 'I survived the hottest ever London Marathon' on a hoodie) :)

Was it that bad? Crikee id forgotten. I ran a really hot Bournemouth one October and a ghastly hot Brighton too. So uou can expect a heatwave this October too.

I marshalled at the finish at London 2018 and it was carnage, people collapsing everywhere. Especially those finishing in the 3 to 4:30 hours time as they wouldn't compromise on pace.

I don't seem to mind it hot for running, but I did find it a bit too hot last time I was in Australia.

I went for a recce walk in the Forest with a friend today. I was expecting 8 miles, was told she'd shortened it to 7.5 miles. It came out at over 9. Fortunately, a lot of it was in woodland and was very beautiful and we stopped for a good 5 minutes to have a watching contest with a pretty little doe. heart
