Happy birthday CStar DD2
Why don’t you outline your suggestions and we’ll all agree with you ITG :-) ;-) ? Take the wins where you find them would be by main advice and try not to worry too much about your mum because there’s not much that can be done now and who can predict the world in six weeks. I very much enjoy your pictures and your training vicariously xx

It's probably not all that complex, Teebee, I just want advice from someone who does races close together.

Here goes...

Original plan:

1. marathon on 30th May
2. marathon 5th July
3. 32k trail (hard!) 8th August (This is the one I did the 13km of last year and absolutely loved.)

Hence, 5 weeks between each event to recover and rebuild.

However, now one marathon is cancelled and the other is moved to 15th August. So I've 2 events only a week apart. And if I want a third event, that would be 1st August - another hilly trail run. (There are three options but I would only really consider the "short" (haha) 18km one.) But that makes 3 events in 2 weeks and I'm quite old and don't recover all that fast... I'm thinking of taking a shorter trail run option on 8th August, so that would be:

1st August: 18km mountain trail run

8th Aguust: 21km hilly trail run involving wading through a river :-o
15th August: marathon (road)

I can rearrange my training plan to "peak" around 1st August but I'm not very good at running "easy" in race conditions so I'm not sure if it is realistic for me to a marathon after 2 gruelling weekends - and that is the one thing I am already signed up for. I also bought they cheaty Nike next% shoes in hopes of a pb but that isn't going to happen if I've just run two big trail runs. So I might keep them for next year.

Why bother at all? Because I was fundraising in memory of dad and that was why I was aiming to push myself in the first place with 3 x marathons (although last one is shorter, it would take the same length of time). A fair bit of money came in so I want to earn it.

Not qualified to advise. I would totally do it and then get injured. I once did a 40k bike sportive the DAY AFTER Hell Down South and it rained all day and I nearly got hypothermia.

However, it does strike me that those distances are not that long for you. But I take your point about the racing.

ION I have this:

"The Chairman has asked me to pass on the School’s apologies and to let you know that it will investigate the matter. The School does not condone sexist or intimidating behaviour. As you may be aware, the School has allowed many people to use its grounds extensively since the lockdown started and that has been widely appreciated.”

I have asked them in what form they made public this allowance to use the grounds. I suspect they whispered it late at night in the chapel.

Or perhaps they are referring to the laminated signs that said 'rights of way remain open as usual'. Thanks a lot.

The problem at the moment ITG is that any or all of the three may get cancelled or deferred. Do you tend to taper? Because I think if your target is to race c.100km in a month and you train for that then all or any three of these can combine towards it and if they cancel you can run the distance anyway. Would that work? But you need to be approaching it as 80-100k not three separate races ie don’t aim for a record race distance and record race speed

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
