Hi, I'm back in the room 700ers :-) Had a fun time running a marathon by the Thames yesterday, managed to run all the way to 16 miles before substantial walking took over, but that was the most I have run in one go since May. I enjoyed the sunny Thames and the gin and tonic jelly bottles and made it round in under 5hrs:30. Then I spent quite a long time in a warm bath :-)

Well done, Groundhog! It must be tough to run a marathon without all the usual bells and whistles in support.

And an out and back many times route too! I've done a HM on that route and the novelty wore off quite rapidly on lap 4 ;-)

Hi ITG, I have done 3 where there was either no support or very limited - for virtual London I had a hydration pack and nipped in to a shop to buy some extra drink half way round. For the other two, they had water I could top up with and I could carry what food I needed. For this last one, they had food which you couldn't touch directly - you pointed at what you wanted and they picked it for you with tongs to drop it in your hand. It worked fine, especially the G+T sweets.

Last one I did, they had water in tanks operated by foot pumps, and you had to hold your bottle below the pipe without touching it.

They did have food but I carried my own for the whole thing to be on the safe side.

Well done GH :)

Grand work Groundhog! I can’t imagine how hard a marathon would be without support. Much bunting is due

My 10 miles today took me over 1000 for the year. Far in excess of my highest previous annual mileage and I can’t quite believe it. I might have a long hot bath myself!

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
