Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

My mum was always terrified about being caught in an earthquake when she visited Japan. Think it was a hangover from the war when she was terrified of being buried in the rubble if they were bombed.

It happened that during one of her visits there was an earthquake, but instead of freaking, she very calmly picked up her cup of tea and moved to sit under the dining table with a towel on her head. My Japanese sister in law was very impressed :-)

That's a brilliant story TeeBee

I have spent the evening going through old newspaper cuttings and certificates.

Morning all. Up at normal time to run, but turns my Garmin has drained is battery instead charged. Would have just run naked but need the gps for WSW! (1st world problems).

Tried to download a couple of tracking apps on my phone but it wouldn't play ball until I restarted it. But as it's a long run not sure my 4 yr old phone battery will take the battering!!

I'm not stressing out. This is not a terrible problem to have. I will get my run, whether or not it is recorded :-)

Morning :)

Happy running TB. :)

No running or anything for me today as I felt my back go as I finished gardening yesterday. Hopefully it'll go off after a couple of days. :-p

Oh dear AR, hope you're right.

Morning all! I didn't shut the kitchen door properly last night so at 4 am-ish the dog arrived in our bedroom. Despite therefore being awake in time, I didn't get up for sunrise ;-) In fact the three of us snuggled down and have had a bit of a lie-in :-)

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2020 thread, everybody welcome. The thread motto is:
'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

At normal times: All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles. Extra points for bins :-) And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.
