No racing for me - just had an email to say it's off, due to the weather forecast of snow showers and -7* windchill. I bet it won't be that bad, but I don't blame them erring on the side of caution and giving a decent amount of notice. I certainly wouldn't want to marshal alongside a river in spate (son2 says it's one of the highest levels he's seen in the 10 years he's been in Exeter) in high winds and freezing temperatures even if there was *no* snow. The good thing is they're already making plans for re-scheduling and mid June is looking the favourite. When I'll get heat-stroke, no doubt :-)

It is weird though - I've been sitting out in our back yard, in the sunshine, drinking a cup of tea this afternoon. Hard to believe the weather forecast for the weekend!

I hope CStar will be safe on the Grizzly course, and wrap up warm everyone!!

I once had that heart stopping moment in a shop many years ago when son wandered off on his own...I thought he was with dad who thought he was with me... :-O

Baby was 9 and had stropped off in a huff. Lucky for him he came back bawling so I couldn't stay mad.

Weather is perfect here but I've been to xfit (indoors). Hoping it lasts through tomorrow morning for my planned 8k. Adding 1k a week. Getting there...

Son was about 4 or 5.

I bought new running socks from Lidl today. There was nothing else I needed

Beautiful clear evening in Sussex at the moment. Trying to make mental preparations for tomorrow's weather.

9 miles done tonight in place of the miles missed last night because of the club AGM. 16 on the plan for the weekend, which could be interesting if The Beast From The East II arrives

Bit nervous about my Sunday race - not intending to race it so will be spending around 3.5 hours in Beast from the East II ... I have dug out all my thermal running gear!

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
