SarahWoo - "a bit bonkers" is par for the course on this thread.

Congratulations and bunting to those who raced, - Fleecy, CStar, Daisy (my highest WAVA is in the same region as yours, Daisy, 69.something, can still live in hopes, I suppose, of one day reaching the 70)
ITG - swimming in -10 degrees sounds heroic, but I expect it was naturally hot water, like the Blue Lagoon? My children had a book (when they were actual children) called something like Welcome Back Sun; Norwegian originally, I think; describing how stressed and tired people get when they haven't seen the sun for months, and then the whole village makes a trek up the mountain on the day they know the sun will appear above the horizon, and have a celebratory picnic when it does. Nice book.

No snow here, just rain all day.

[the sun tricked me and didn't break the mountains after all. and yes, the water was warm but there is still the 10 yard dash from the hot-tub to the training pool.]

Ah yes, I remember the dash-across-the-snow from the changing room to the Blue Lagoon. And the bliss of getting deep into the water.

Afternoon all.

A nice 11 miles done today with Sunday Gang. Bit cold to begin with but fine other than that.

Well done to everyone who got out in some horrible conditions.

I hadn’t realised you had too much snow AR :-o it looks lovely but I hope it doesn’t muck up the skiing

Is mr ITG or ITG Jnr tonight’s partner?

dipps, we can ski but most of the lifts have been shut since I arrived so can't get too far afield. It is what it is and it's still fun and sociable. :)

Apparently Phil and co. made it in with some fun and games. I expect that they're all pissed by now.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
