I'm home, alive, and hoping the dr will call. (I got through to a secretary of sorts who confirmed it was him who was trying to call me on Friday and has promised to pass on a message and ask him to try again to call me.)

Meanwhile, DS1 (age 13) just came home from school in tears because the kids in his group for the annual show, instead of preparing, were looking at porn on the school computers, pretending to masturbate and fighting each other. He doesn't want to work with them but is scared to drop out the show because he thinks he will be bullied (as 2 other kids were). Sooooo not ok on a hundred levels. I've asked for a meeting with his teacher.

Oh ITG, poor lad :( I hope the teacher does something effective.

Several hours up at A&E with my MiL. Still waiting around.

ITG, that sounds awful, you'd think the school would have sites like that blocked. :-o

Back from a sports massage, work done in the hip area as I've been feeling quite tight there just lately. I think I may end up with some bruising.

ITG that is horrible, I hope the school can sort out all the myriad issues that raises :-(

I'm currently rocking the socks and sandals look :-0 My Teva sandals which I wore most of the summer have good arch supports but it's too cold now for bare feet so I'm looking like a tree-hugger for the sake of my feet :-) Also my functional movement guy has offered to see me tomorrow (he's a physio and doing his Master's in some Sports Medicine line, hence the coaching of the Modern Pentathlete team in Bath) as he thinks he might be able to do something to help. Gingers crossed!

Helegant
Oh dear. Best wishes to those in pain and anxious. (special reference to ITg's DS1 - I'm saddened at the situation, and so wish that kids didn't have to negotiate this kind of minefield. I hope the school will help.)

Sorry I've missed a couple of days - I'm playing catch up with mundane cleaning etc. It mounted up while I was away.

I've moved my blog to buddies only as default, so if you can't see it and want to read it just ask me and if I know who you are (e.g. regular on this thread) I'll buddy up.

Yes please Helegant. I don't always comment but do read.

Finally home. MiL is staying in hospital for now with suspected joint infection.

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2018 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Next year's spreadsheet can be found here - let's fill it up
