Now might be a good time?

Deplorably, under some circumstances it's perfectly legitimate at present for companies to have high heels in the dress code, though there needs to be an equivalent level of uncomfortable smartness for men. telegraph.co.uk

I have to say I'm increasingly 'letting myself go' ... I hardly dress up for anything anymore. Couldn't tell you the last time I wore heals.

In part, I am rebelling against society's focus on what somebody should look like, rather than focussing on how well they do their job or what they kind of person they are on the inside. I'm lucky that my employer has few expectations of how I look (especially when I work from home).

When I discovered the penchant/expectation for women shaving stemmed from a bic advert in the early 20th Century, I lost any drive to keep that up with any frequency.

Maybe I'm just lazy :-)

I need to run but have no motivation today and is the start of a migraine so I may doze first and then just do a shorter run :-(

I'm pretty sure academics aren't famed for their fabulous dress sense :)

It was an advert specifically aimed at women - so I'd say, in general, it wasn't including the face.

Welllll... my former boss in Leeds was handed an 'epilady'. For some bizarre reason the women in the office were all trying it out on their legs. They were all complaining how it pinched their legs and hurt. The boss grabbed it and ran it over her face, saying 'it's OK, isn't it?'

Employers are usually quite flexible. I wore trainers at work for months when I did my Achilles. Can't cope long in heels.

Afraid not a fan of underarm/leg hair here!

Planked. Had to touch down twice in transferring between planks, but managed the others.

I used to get rid of leg hair with waxed strips; a bit ouchy, but takes weeks to regrow. Haven't bothered for ages. Usually wear trousers anyway.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
