I just ebayed it, now researching gloves. Getting quite technical, 1.5mm, 2 or 3mm. I guess the thicker the better for the cold yeah? Good to hear the arctic weather hits just in time for Friday 😃.

get cheap ones, they're going to get all dirty :) It's the wetsuit material which is most important, cos ones which aren't waterproof just go soggy and are worse than no gloves at all
It snowed the year before last and last year there was ice on all the puddles. It appears to be turning into a tradition...

Evening - busy day back at work with truly dreadful rail travel :( off to Pilates soon though, and I did squeeze in a quick half hour at the gym.

I ran from work back to collect the car. 4.5 miles in the pouring rain. I actually enjoyed it, in that strange way you can enjoy cold, wet runs. It was especially satisfying as I passed bus stop after bus stop with massive queues of people trying to shelter from the rain whilst I enjoyed getting wet, and then overtook long traffic jams.

Hot shower done and now I'm waiting for dinner to heat up.

All in all the day turned out better than expected, running-wise.

Evening gonkzillas. I've just made a chilli and I'm off for a short run and boxing session while it slowly cooks. Slurp.

bike Commute done dry ride there, finished later than normal, so ended cycling back in the dark, with a little drizzle and gusting wind for added fun 35 miles felt a bit more challenging than yesterdays 40.

I can confirm that the bog of doom can be a little chilly, fortunately it is at 10 miles so near the end

That's great Paula, one reason why we run, because of the rainy day scenario (like why we save, just in case we need it). The rainy day happened to be the tube strike. Very satisfying to have the option to rely on nothing but your fitness.

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2017 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

Join in the chat on the friendliest thread around - all things discussed and sometimes even some running is talked about.

Happy running :-)
