Sorry to hear about those infected bites, Mave. I hope everyone is aware of the possibility of Lyme disease from tick bites (this is just the latest case to make the news http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36923336) but 'ordinary' insect bites seem to be increasingly nasty and prevalent. Maybe it's the changing climate - maybe we need some really cold winters to kill them off?

My plan said 4 miles hilly and it felt pretty hilly but I see that it was only just over 100m ascent :-(. On the plus side I ran the whole way up one part which I've never managed before. Now I'm sitting on my sofa and listening to the 'concertina workshop' going on as part of Folk Week, in the church hall over the road. It's not at all bad :-)

235 posts since Saturday! You lot are far too prolific, or I need to post on the senior moments thread about forgetting to read this one.
I have skimmed all the posts: happy birthdays, good racing (RA, love the womble medal - was the race underground/overground?), hope the injuries heal quickly. Think that covers it.

I have finally had confirmation of a job from the interview I went for 6 (!) weeks ago. It is in East Belfast, which is a sensible distance from home. There were 6 posts on offer, two in Belfast and the others at increasing distances. I would have acccepted any of them and considered moving in future waves over the next year but as this one is geographically convenient I don't have to. I am absolutely thrilled :-) I have been wanting to move for years but there have been almost no suitable jobs advertised. Exciting times!

About This Thread

Welcome to the 700 miles in 2016 thread, everybody welcome :-)

The thread motto is:

'700 miles is neither necessary nor sufficient'

All you have to do is run about 1.91 miles per day or 13.46 miles per week or 58.33 miles per month and take a picture when you get to 700 miles of either you or the spot you reached the target or both if you want to. And if you go under or over 700 miles nobody will mind.

bunting and 700er medals are often spotted around here.

Happy running :-)
