Just back from 9 miles with the middle 7 at marathon pace and feeling pretty good. Still feel like I'm a long way from 26.2 at that pace though!

Well done Hally, that is a good effort though - do you have a target in mind?
I feel the same with my marathon I'm aiming to do 14/15ish tomorrow, I only have 2 weeks to go now and its probably as much as I can push at this point. I know I'll get round but it won't be startling.... maybe for Loch Ness I'll be in better shape.
I have my food sorted for tomorrow, nut, oat, seed & date bars cooked and cooling. This is my biggest issue I don't really tend to eat on a run.

Thanks GG, tentative target is 4 hours 10, managed 4:13 in Birmingham last year and my training paces are geared towards the 4:10 finish. With the amount of people with it being London though I'm guessing congestion may put paid to the PB effort. I think if I can stick to the plan between now and the marathon (and that's a big if) I should have the fitness to attempt it but we'll see.
I've got 16 miles planned for Sunday and then it's the Ashby 20 the following Sunday which will almost certainly be run at my easy/long run pace rather than anything more ambitious!

Sounds like a well thought out plan Hally.
I have done my long run 15.25m 3h 14m well happy with that. If I can keep that up on the night I should get a decent (for me) time! I made a change to my route not realising it would put it uphill for about 2m it’s fonished me off but good training for Kielder.
My feet weren’t happy running in vibrams for that distance on tarmac but the race is woodland trails so I should be ok. Feels a bit real now!!
Happy running peeps I may have a weekend off now.

11 miles run today, was aiming for 19 but had absolutely nothing in my legs after not running for two weeks due to tonsillitis. Took 2 hours to run 10 miles which is much slower than normal, so was nothing to gain but practically walking for another 8 miles. I'll aim for three runs next week to be ready to try a long run again the week after.
Well done to who got out during the cold weather!
