Cans

Greene King Abbot Ale

Impulse buy, hoped to recreate the pint I used to enjoy in the beer garden of the Shepherd's Rest in Bagthorpe when mini Nico was small. I was disappointed.

I have got a couple of Purple Moose on my list I think. I need to check but as far as I can recall there's one of theirs I really liked and another I could take or leave. Will have a look at my list over the weekend to see if it sheds any light on it but our local pub gets a couple from Purple Moose now and again even though we are nowhere near the brewery!

50. (bottle) Erdinger Dunkel Hefeweissbier (5.3%). After the near-miss of the Paulaner Ur-Dunkel, I found this in Tesco. Not quite as nice as the draught Weihenstephan Dunkel I get at the Fork n Ale in town, but an improvement on thre Ur-Dunkel (well, it's a whear beer!).

Now I've hit the magic 50 bunting I'll split my list into draught and bottles/cans. Depending on how things work out there may be further sub-divisions to come.

I'm not quite sure how I'll manage my list now. Rather than Untappd I've been using my Fetch books list fetcheveryone.com/mybooks.php as a library of beers. Watch this space.

Needed a drink to recover from shopping.

Viking Golden Ale from Rudgate brewery, 3.6%.

Little bit strong on the beer taste for me, I am such a lightweight! OH enjoyed it though.

Cans

Snow Eater, Brass Cadtle, 4.8%, very earthy. Not so Pale, good though mis-named!

Billionaires Should Not Exist, Pressure Drop, NEIPA, 7.2%, an excellent example.

CASK

Masterpiece IPA, Heritage Brewery, Burton-On-Trent, 5.6%, an English IPA, excellent.

Ambitious, Mild, Stockport Brewery, 3.5%. Not great, to be fair I think I got the bottom of the barrel, Stockport Brewery are usually very good.

50!

Now to head for 50 of can, cask, keg and bottle

:-)

Full list later!

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
