CW, I do have a spare entry for a Plym Trail event, but date undecided at the moment.
Great to see loads of events coming along now. I did my first ever duathlon (or any cycling event) last weekend, which was a 10k run, 42k ride, 5k run. The 10k I just paced quite easily and I got on the bike feeling good, which was the plan. I did struggle more than I'd expected on the undulating/hilly bike course but I paced it fairly evenly (it was a 2-lapper and the lap times were similar) but it had taken quite a lot out of me. However, in my mind I was thinking "well, it's only a 5k at the end. What can go wrong?" but it turns out that my legs had turned to jelly and from the first few seconds I knew it was going to be a loooong 5k! Still, I got it done. I did enjoy it and it was a first for me, but I've no plans to enter another one in the near future, except maybe next Spring possibly.
In terms of my running I did a 15-miler yesterday and I feel I'm running quite well, but I've developed some kind of abrasion on my foot, and I can't really walk on it pain-free this morning. Don't know if it's my shoes causing it or what (nothing's changed in that area) but I think I may need to see someone about it so have booked an appointment for Thursday. Hopefully they can sort it before Shepperdine as I'm quite looking forward to that one! Don't think I could stomach any more DNSs!

Oh that reminds me I won entry into Rendlesham Forest Day Alien Trail marathon last year during lockdown. The organisers did a weekly giveaway! I’ve got to remember to message them and add it to my Calendar!

It was a lovely day! I love this race, and it was near perfect. Except for struggling with blisters again. Think I may try taping my feet next time. Still, beat my previous time, so pleased with that.

Great job Stu congratulations.
With your cv I’m sure you’ve tried it but I find slathering my feet in vaseline helps avoid blisters.

I struggled with blisters in 2019, two toms blister shield a powder you put on your socks worked a treat although now I’ve switched to different trainers I don’t get blisters any more!
