Been struggling to get on target so far, 159 miles, but if I stick to the plan I should claw my way above the grey line this weekend and build a bit of a buffer over the next few months.

Knee deep in a little over-reaching atm, so 222 for January
Having been a member of the 1500 thread a few years ago, I was thinking of doing a monthly round up/stats post - nothing like the depth of the 1500 monthly round-ups, just a brief stats breakdown of the mileage table. Any interest in that sort of thing?

Thought I would make 200 for Jan til the snowstorm hit today and left me at 191.3. I like running in snow, but poor visibility and slushy/icy underfoot and freezing cold with car chaos on the roads make it not a sensible option. Hopefully get out tomorrow in the sun and snow.

That would be nice oumaumau, I still spend a lot more time in the 1500 thread as there's more 'chat' there.
Actually only 0.2 mile below target having reached 170 tonight. Was pretty happy with that until I looked at last January, when I did 220!

StuH - the 2000 thread is certainly more a 'lone wolf' thread than the 1500, maybe we're just busier running ;).
Some basic stats for the 2000 thread so far this year, (not really sure where I'm going to end up with this so here goes):
There are 59 runners this year with the declared target of 2000 miles.
Of these 59, 30 are on target as of this morning so 50%+
In an interesting symmetrical way, if we look at those 20% above target, and 20% below, and those in between, the numbers are 16, 16, and 27, so 27%, 27% and 45% (also )
There are of course the extreme outliers: 3 (5%) are more than 50% up on target, and 10 (16%ish) are more than 50% behind target after the first month.
Well done all, sometimes just getting out the door can be a challenge so good on you for getting that far (and often much further ). It's early days yet, so for those behind target there's no rush, you have 11 months (most of them warmer, with longer days) to catch up. For those streaking ahead, hope you are enjoying it - remember rest/recovery is where the adaption happens.
If you'd like to see any other stats at the end of each month, or even no stats at all, then post about it below. Next month offers the promise of the success or failure of the first target races of the year, so stay tuned and best of luck!

I feel a bit of a fraud with my mileage to date as most of the running is VERY easy and quite a few of the runs would have been with my dog and would have involved as much walking (albeit mainly uphill) and stopping/stretching. I think I've only done a couple of 10 milers, with no runs of more than 12 miles. I also reckon I've only done 1 or 2 runs where my average h/r has been more that 70% max whr. I'm expecting (hoping) that February will be different as my running has become more comfortable.

That sounds like the majority of my training anyway JB Trust you'll find your way back to your 'normal'

No rules to say there’s anything wrong with that John
Finished January around 360km which am happy with, felt quite consistent. Most of my running is just commuting back and forth to work, lots of 6ish milers. Long runs of 11, 11 and 12 - hilly though so all good.
Hope everyone coping with weather conditions, lots of hard packed snow up this way, not too bad.
I like the stats
