I'm late to the party - missed the first 3 weeks of January with achilles problem, then last week of January just under 20 miles. Followed that with a 30-odd and a 40-odd, but it leaves me 138 down ( before tonight's run ), still just need average of 42mpw for rest of year, which I hope to exceed, so will be interesting to see the deficit come down slowly.

I've been ill then had 2 tapers so some of my advantage has been eaten away. Hopefully I'll recover from Bramley 20 this weekend ok and can get back to ticking the miles off.

It shows consistency counts and just a couple of small things can see your lead against the target wiped out!

"short" ultra for me tomorrow, Brecon- Cardiff and an opportunity to discover whether my arthritic hip can still get through forty plus miles. Have run well, tapered well but because I can't take anti inflammation meds, referred pain can be an issue.
Good to see another aiming for 2,000..welcome Gus!

Dragged myself around Bramley today, it was really hard. Hopefully I can recover quickly, current just under 10% up.

Completed the 44 miler in a few minutes over eight hours--wanted sub eight but..! Waiting for official time, pleased that I was able to do it at all.

Not as good as I thought/wanted--8 hrs 18 mins. Came 84th/223 which is fair and on what is a challenging route. Hip survived but associated tendons/ligaments/muscles surrounding my hip are badly inflamed today but am walking ok! Thanks Huntsman and Chunky. Three 12 hour events planned for remainder of the year now.
