if you were training for a mara you don't need to go over 19 ish in training. But you're going to double up over a shorter distance so again no need to train for the long miles. See if you can make some of your normal training last thing in the evening and then first thing in the morning. Its excellent conditioning for a ftigued body Train your body to accept being tired and to go again at short notice. Begin gently. Time on feet is way better than fast miles

106 miles so far this month. Thanks SS..I appreciate your words but I have an event (45 miles coming up so need the strong base-I want to do a better time than last time) which demands decent miles in the bank. I feel good except for my arthritic hip and I'm due to see a specialist and be seen at the pain clinic...running is ok though!

Missed the target last year and hadn't really planned on focusing on it this year again but I've just seen I'm slightly up and with London training I should be quite comfortably up for the first 4 months so will see how it goes.

My thoughts exactly kpeel. Hit a couple of 200+ miles during marathon training and then see how the year goes.

Ahead of the curve at the moment, but don't expect that to last.
