5 days off following man flu and then a steady build up back in has eaten away my advantage. Will be 2 down after tonight's run. More concerned about impact on marathon goal but these things happen.

5 days off at this stage just carry on as normal and retain same marathon time goal.

That was my plan. Key sessions missed were a 14 mile mid week medium long run, and a 16 mile long run with 12 at MP. The 12 at MP would have been a good confidence booster but I think I'll be fine. Will carry on and adjust if I'm struggling to maintain required paces in the next few sessions.

Allowing myself 2 weeks of active recovery, so only running as and when I feel like it and only for as long as the body wants too, mixed in with some gentle cycle miles. Lost some ground as a consequence but still comfortably up on par.

Normal service resumes through March and April.

even better..I was 84th/278 better placed than I thought! Yes...a mile race would be a great idea Huntsman. Intend to run A MILE tomorrow following my gym session with trainer. "Active recovery" very much a key element for us distance runners after events/races.

Over 50 miles up today after todays 20 miler that was fine for 17 miles and sheer hell for the last 3 miles of 200m ascent and slog through muddy fields. Tired now.

Nice Chris. I'm back on it after my illness. Legs actually feel ok for once and did 84km this week.
