G, I'd never notcied that you liked the mileage that much But, your training and mileage had a purpose didn't it. The races you were targetting meant that you were likely to be near the top.

I like the idea of churning out 4000 miles. The reality is that with a training pace that rarely exceeds 9mm on the roads and is a lot slower off-road, I would end up spending far more time running than I can afford.

Velo - point well made a quick check tells me I did nearly 572 hrs averaging under 7.30 min mile pace for 2008

G thats some awesome mileage in 2008, how did you manage to fit 4,600 miles into your life? I struggled with just over 3000 last year?
